“Database already exist…”

Dear students,

Regarding one the problem experienced by students after completely install IBM DB2 on your machine, this is might be the solution to those who get a message about “SAMPLE database already exist in the database…”. Please try the solutions and feedback to me immediately.

Steps:

1. Open your Command Line Processor (CLP) which can be found in your Start Menu > IBM DB2 > Command Line Tools.

2. Type the following command, db2 => list db directory c [press enter]. You will see db installed in your machine including SAMPLE.

3. Type the following command, db2 => catalog db sample as sample [press enter].

4. Open IBM DB2 Control Center, and look for SAMPLE db under All Databases. The SAMPLE database should be there. If yes, then you are good to go.
